I'LL HAVE A PINT PLEASE!

Bloody hell, what a day, time for a chill.
I thought Saturdays where supposed to be a day of rest? Up at the crack of dawn and out to football practise in freezing conditions, get home, and i'm told 'we need to go the shops!' , hmm ok.
We go the local retail park - chocka! find a car park space, then go looking around. Supposed to end up just swapping shinpads over, end up spending a fortune on crap i don't need. Only good purchase was some chalk for snooker table, 6 for a quid, bargain!!, the rest of it tat.
Washed the crap off the car, thats been on it through November to now, had to be done.
And I am now just feet up relaxing for once then i am off to the pub.
I know i will probably die soon if i keep smoking, its going to happen i know it, but i just want a cigarette and a pint of Strongbow and i am happy for the week.
its a crying shame that ciggies kill, something so great, a simple pleasure and it has to kill you. Thats bloody not on. Somebody was having a cruel joke when the thought up the pleasure of smoking. I started smoking when i was 11 and took it up more regularly as i got a paper round and could afford to buy them. Embassy Filter pack of 10 was my fave choice, gradually moving to Regal then onto my current smoke Marlboro Light as i thought they wouldnt kill me as fast. They taste great , not like the foul red Marlboro, full on 3 course meal smoke that one is. I don't know how people smoke them, or for that matter Berkeley red , B & H etc. I wouldnt let a dog smoke them. Marlboro Light is the choice for me.
I want a pack of twenty and a pint. Its a shame its the middle of winter and now because of the smoking ban i have to freeze outside in the pub garden with half of the rest of the pub smoking outside.
Theres more people smoking outside the pub than whats inside? figure that one out.
I went to Barcelona two weeks ago, and i really enjoyed sitting inside a pub and having a smoke with my beer (watching the footy too!). Because of the cheap flights to Europe now, someone should organise smoking tours in Europe. I ' d pay to go on one. I paid £120 to go to Barca i and stay in a 3 star hotel just off the Ramblas. A total bargain. If you goto to Barcelona just watch your belongings as pickpockets are rife, but like in any city keep your wits about you and you will be ok. I didnt see or have any trouble, just a great time, drinking and eating and drinking.
Highly recommended is the hotel i stayed in, Hotel Cuitat Vella on Tallers (thats the name of the road) just off Ramblas. Go, its cheap and fun and it has the cheapest Irish Bar nearby The Shamrock Pub, about three doors along. Not exactly local fayre, but if you want a drink in good company and dont want to get ripped off go there. The manager and his wife are very friendly and they do a bottle of beer for 1 Euro and 2 pints of Amstell for 5 Euro during happy hour (approx 5-8).
I digress, i'm gonna have a few drinks of cider and some smokes and chill for the rest of this evening. Its been a long day and i have had enough of it today so time to relax.
Mines a Strongbow, do you want a drink also?

Curb Your Enthusiam

'Curb..' series six starts tonight on More4 tonight in the UK.
It seems like ages since I last saw series 5. The tales of Larry David have just got better and better as each season has gone on. The reason why i have begun my blog mentioning Larry David is that i feel i have a lot in common with Larry.
He says the things I wish i had the nerve to say, what we all wish we should say, then he takes the wrap for it as well.
As I post my comments here, i will endevour to be as honest as Larry, by saying all the stuff I won't say to peoples faces in public (yet i will allow millions to read - if they so wish).
I wonder what the world would be like if we where as honest as Larry David?
If you like Jack Dee's series 'Lead Balloon' then you will love 'Curb.'
'Curb' is the original and best. If you haven't seen it, watch it!
